The tardy bell rings at 7:40 am. and staff close the doors to start class. Students need to arrive BEFORE 7:40 am. to safely access the back doors of the school. If a car rider arrives after the doors are closed, please drive your child to the front entrance of the school and walk them up to the doors to ring the bell so that he/she can come through the office for a Tardy Pass. Thank you!
Parents please use the ride change form link to communicate your child's ride change by 2:00 pm. We will not release students without confirmation from parents regarding ride changes
If you are picking your student up early for an appointment, 2:30pm is the latest we will be able to release students.

September Wellness Challenge From Coach Breckley and Coach Jeffrey
Last year, the Cox Elementary staff started a new fitness challenge using the Vizer app that encouraged them to either work out for 30 minutes a day or walk 10,000 steps a day. Each day that they accomplished that goal, they were able to use the Vizer app to donate a meal to families facing food insecurity, at no cost to themselves. Last school year the Cox Elementary staff donated over 5000 meals during the school year. As an incentive, if staff met the monthly goal, they could participate in Warm-up Wednesdays and wear workout gear each Wednesday.
This year, we would love to extend that to our school community so we are introducing our Cox Elementary Community Fitness Challenge starting on September 1. We would love for parents to take a look at the Vizer app ( free and available for both Apple and Android devices) and consider using it as a motivational tool to help get you moving. It’s kind of a win-win! You move, you help someone! In addition, we are introducing a monthly fitness challenge for our students (and families) to encourage them to move outside of school. We would love for students to complete activities on each monthly calendar and join their teachers in our Warm-up Wednesday! There’s nothing to turn in, just track your activity on your own.
Cox Families!! Mark your calendars!
It is time to Celebrate and Share you!! September 29th from 6-7:30 we invite all families to come and share and/or learn about other families at Cox! This is a FREE event! Signs up sheets will come home with your student this week! Please be on the lookout for it!!
Calling all volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up for the Volunteer 101 training. All volunteers are required to complete this training prior to volunteering. This training will be offered each month. You must sign up to attend. the training.
From the PE Department: Save the Date!
During the week of September 26-29, the Cox Elementary PE Department will be hosting our 3rd Annual Bring Your Parent to PE Week! This is a great opportunity to come and work alongside your kiddo and see what happens in the gym. Parents will be participating in warmups and activities (with modifications as needed of course). Due to space limitations, we will only be able to host ten parents per grade level each day. We will email links to the Sign-Up genius for each grade level on Friday, September 9 and the sign ups will be first come, first served. Unlike previous years, the sign ups will remain open until the day of the event so if you are unable to get a spot, check back in case other parents cancel. If you sign up for a spot and later decide that you will not be able to make it, please cancel that spot as soon as possible so that other parents can fill it.
MUST DO:
Since you will be interacting with other students, you MUST have a background check completed. This must be done each year so even if you completed one last year, you need to do a new one. Please do this now so it will be completed before the week of September 26. If you show up on the date of your sign up and have not completed the background check, you will not be able to participate. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Breckley or Coach Jeffrey!
Grandparent's Week is Coming!!!!
Cox Elementary would like to celebrate all of our Grandparents the week of Sept. 6-9. Grandparents are invited to join their grandchild's book fair shopping time. Be on the lookout from your child's teacher for the date and time of their class shopping time for the book fair. We are reserving lunch sign ups just for Grandparents during this week.
Grandparents click on the grade level to sign up!
Pre-K, ECSE and PACEE reach out to the teacher to schedule.
Parents: Sign ups for parents to come eat lunch with your child will be open starting Sept. 12.
Visitors at Lunch
Due to limited space, we will be limiting the number of guest allowed per grade level lunch. Only those who have signed up on the sign up genus link will be able to eat lunch with their child. All visitors will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID.
We have tables set up outside the cafeteria in the hallway designated for lunch visitors. Only you and your child will be able eat at the parent/student tables. No friends allowed. Lunch guests will need to bring their own lunch.
When your child's lunch time is over, visitors will need to come directly to the office and check out. For safety and security reasons, parents cannot follow students to their classroom or the playground.
In order for all parents to have the opportunity to eat lunch with their child, you may sign up for only 2 slots per student per grading period.
There are some dates that will be blocked for lunch sign ups due to events or changes in schedules.
Pre-K, ECSE and PACEE reach out to your child's teacher to schedule.
