Social Emotional Learning Framework
Social Emotional Learning Framework
Guidance Lessons:
Classroom guidance is a key part of our comprehensive counseling program. Students receive lessons according to the district Social Emotional Learning Framework that combines Social Emotional Skills with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills required.
You can find all Elementary school guidance lessons here: NISD Social Emotional Learning Framework
Group Counseling:
Throughout the year, parents and teachers can refer students for group counseling. Group counseling may focus on a variety of topics including, but not limited to: friendship/social skills, academics, classroom behavior, emotion regulation, self-esteem, family dynamics, motivation, and focus/attention.
Individual Counseling:
I can also see your child for a brief period of time individually to work on specified goals/skills.
One Time Check In:
I can check on your child anytime if you would like me to. I will not send home a permission slip for this as long as you already consented to counseling services when you registered your child for school.
Please fill out the 26-27 Parent Counseling Referral form at anytime to request for your child to see me for a group, individual sessions or for a one time check in. Before your child is seen for group or individual sessions, I will always send home a permission slip to be signed.
