It is our overall goal to produce outstanding orchestras, outstanding musicians, and outstanding people. We want our students to have a good foundation in the fundamentals of playing their instruments, and are able to be independent thinkers on their instruments.

The goal for this specific assignment was to have the students analyze the conductor's score to Dark Adventures by Ralph Ford, and create their own bowings for each part (violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, bass) in this piece. Typically, the director would go through the score and write in the bowings FOR the students to perform. In this case, we wanted the kids take ownership of this process from beginning to final product.
