Complete 2 whole group service projects per school year
Complete 15 hours of community service (6 of which must serve our campus or other district schools) every 3 months.
Attend monthly meetings
Disciplinary action will be taken for any of the following:
Not completing the required 15 service hours every 3 months
Failing to attend 2 whole group community service projects per year
Failing to uphold standards which were the basis of membership
Missing a meeting without a valid reason or proper notification
Steps for Dismissal:
Warning: Students & guardians will receive an emailed warning notifying them of the problem and how and when to rectify it. If the problem is not rectified by the specified date, the student will move to Probation.
Probation: Students who have been warned but failed to remedy the issue will be placed on probation. Probation lasts one quarter. Students who fail to rectify the issue by the specified date will move to Dismissal.
Dismissal: Students who have failed to address the reason(s) they were placed on Probation will be recommended for Dismissal.
Members may be considered for Dismissal without prior warning for any of the following:
Failure to comply with written reprimands or earning several written reprimands;
Cheating or plagiarizing;
Placement in Discipline Alternative Education Program (D.A.E.P.) or suspension from school;
Use of illegal or prohibited substances;
Involvement in questionable activities that leads to arrest by the police or other agent of the law;
Any severe misbehavior that fails to meet NHS standards according to the Faculty Council’s interpretation
Any student recommended for Dismissal may respond in 3 ways:
Submit a written statement appealing the dismissal to the Faculty Council
Request a hearing appealing the dismissal to the Faculty Council
Accepting the Dismissal
