Hello, my name is Keyra Simmons, and I am a bilingual licensed social worker proudly serving as a Behavior Intervention Specialist at NWISD. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I began my career after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nyack College in 1999, followed by a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University in 2009. I obtained my LMSW in 2012 and have since worked in a variety of roles, including medical social work, child protective services supervision, and school social work.
Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about working with children and families as both a social worker and psychotherapist. In August 2024, I relocated to Texas with my 15-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son to be closer to my adult son, his wife, and their newborn son. While I had a thriving and fulfilling career in NYC, this move has been a true blessing.
Since joining NWISD, I’ve found not only a professional home but also a supportive and welcoming community. I’m excited about the meaningful work I do here and look forward to continuing to grow alongside the students, families, and staff of NWISD.

My name is Amber L. Oyemola. I am a dedicated Behavioral Interventionist with NorthWest ISD, committed to guiding and supporting students from all backgrounds. With a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Psychology (concentration in Learning and Development) expected this summer, I combine academic expertise with a deep passion for nurturing young minds.
Outside of my professional life, I am a proud mom of two beautiful girls and a devoted wife of 22 years. I am an avid lover of water activities, camping, traveling. dancing to lively music, loud laughter and savoring Spanish cuisine and seafood. My next dream destination? Australia.
A fun fact: My Swedish grandmother was a farmer who inherited a family farm renowned for its red currant and lingonberry jams. I believe the best feeling in the world is receiving a heartfelt hug from a child whose life she's touched, knowing that her love and guidance have helped them succeed.
"The delivery of behavioral interventions and academic instruction does not look the same for everyone. But the love I give will always be a constant"

Zachary Wilson (Mr. Zack)
I am currently the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at the Special Programs Center (SPC), which serves as the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for our district. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the University of North Texas and went on to complete my master’s degree in ABA at Ball State University.
Since joining Northwest ISD in 2017, I’ve had the opportunity to work in Special Education across both elementary and secondary settings. In my current role at SPC, I apply my training and experience to support students in making meaningful behavioral changes—helping them succeed so they can remain on or return to their home campuses.
Outside of work, I’ve been happily married since 2015, and my wife and I have two wonderful boys. She also works for Northwest ISD, and one of the things I value most is being able to share school holidays and breaks as a family.
