Writing: We will make a claim and use evidence from our informational texts.
Foundational Skills: We will continue talking about silent e words, but will be focused on irregular silent e words.
Home Practice for irregular silent e words
Science: We will begin our unit on force and motion.
Math: We will be working with measurement in inches and feet.

Read, read, read!! - have your student read aloud to you, or read aloud to them as they follow along!
Practice math facts: make 10 strategies (7+3, 8+2, etc.), doubles, doubles +1 (8+7, 5+6, etc.)

🍎 SNACK TIME
We will have a quick snack break every morning. Please send your child with a nut-free, healthier, mess-free snack. Some ideas include crackers, fruit, or chips. Please know that 2nd grade teachers will not be providing extra snacks for students who do not bring one.
🍔 LUNCH TIME
Our lunch time is from 12:00 - 12:30 pm. You are welcome to come eat with your student. Here is the sign up for the 1st Semester! 1st Semester Lunch Sign Up
🎂 BIRTHDAYS
We love celebrating birthdays!! If your child would like to celebrate their birthday with the class, please bring in enough store bought treats for the class to share. If you bring donuts, please bring the same flavor. Birthdays will be celebrated in the last 10-15 minutes of the day. 🎂🎉🎁🎈
👚CHANGE OF CLOTHES
Please make sure you send a change of clothes with your child every day. This can be kept in a ziploc bag in your child's backpack. Please send in: shorts, t-shirt, underwear, and socks. Accidents happen and the Clinic has limited extra clothes.
🚗 CAR LINE
Please make sure you have your sign in your dash if you pick up your student in the car line. Parents/guardians without a sign will be asked to see a valid ID to ensure you are cleared to pick up the student.
🎧 HEADPHONES
Please make sure your student has working headphones to use daily in the classroom.
