School Reopening Update

2 December 2021

The CCDC announced late yesterday evening that Chiang Mai schools are permitted to open specific grade levels for in-person learning from Tuesday, December 7, 2021 - Prathom 6; Matayom 3; and Matayom 6. The government has prioritized these specific grade levels because these students are required to take entrance examinations to advance to the next level of education in the Thai school system.

This correlates to Grade 6, Grade 9, and Grade 12. Whilst it is not ideal to prioritize these grade levels in our international school context, this is the next phase of school reopening that has been mandated by the Thai government (see attached letter – Thai language only).

In sum, Grade 6, 9, and 12 will return for in-person learning on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Specific information on this return to school (Track & Trace and ATK Testing) will be sent to these students tomorrow. All other grade levels will continue with online learning until further notice.

We are completely prepared to open all grade levels for in-person learning when permitted.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
