My Grandpa would always make coffee in the mornings at my family's cottage, so the first thing I would wake up to was the sound of the coffee grinder and the smell of fresh brewed coffee. This piece is mostly painted with coffee, with watercolors being used for the colors.

My piece is based on one stage of the water cycle, Percolation. This specific stage in the cycle happens underground and since we obviously can't see what happens between the soil and rocks, I wanted to create a piece that kind of showed that and gave a visual of what may happen under the soil and rocks during this stage.
