The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and Devolved Administrations oversees the UK Clinical Research Delivery programme through the Oversight Group, Programme Board and Advisory group. 

Programme Board

The Programme Board, chaired by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), is comprised of organisations that are responsible for delivering the work that underpins the progression of the vision. There is cross-sector membership including:

Advisory Group

Co-chaired by The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and The Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), the Advisory Group includes representatives from across the clinical research ecosystem that fund, design and carry out clinical research. This group provides advice and guidance on progressing the vision. 

In addition to ABPI and ARMC, the Advisory Group includes representatives from industry, medical research charities, NHS Research and Development, research delivery workforce representatives across NHS settings, patient and public representatives, medical Royal Colleges, universities, the Medical Research Council and the NHS across the UK.

Oversight Group

The Oversight Group consists of senior executive leadership from organisations represented on the Programme Board, patient and public representatives and senior representatives from industry, academia, medical research charities and the NHS. The Oversight group provides strategic direction and coordination for the implementation of The Future of UK Clinical Research Delivery’s vision.
