Who: Anyone interested in getting involved in or developing palliative care research particularly across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria. This includes clinicians (nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, social care professionals), researchers, researcher managers and more. No need to have research experience to attend.
What: A mix of presentations including bitesize introductions to research methods in palliative care and current projects with networking opportunities including a collaboration wall, and research development groups. Check back for full programme, outline below.

DRIVING: Do not take the main drive up to Lancaster University Campus, but instead Sir John Fisher Drive which is the turning after the main campus as you travel towards Lancaster. There is a pay and display car park right outside the building (£5 for the day, this is CASHLESS, only contactless or chip and pin cards can be accepted, and they can be a little slow to connect). There are charge points for EVs, accessed via the AMP EV app.

10am Introduction to PalCaRe NWC
10.15 am Local research projects: a series of bitesize presentations focused on local, ongoing palliative care research projects.

11.45am: Planning your research - issues to consider: Four to five small group discussions focused on key research issues such as PPI, outcomes, ethics, paediatric research and more.
Lunch
1pm: Research masterclass: a series of bitesize presentations introducing aspects of palliative care research design and methods.
Coffee
2 pm Research planning discussions. The opportunity to work in small facilitated groups to bring research topics and ideas and discuss how they could be developed into research projects.
3pm: Wrap up - finish by 3.30pm.
