Thursday 11 February 2021 is UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science. To celebrate, UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences spoke to Professor Mariya Moosajee, one of our researchers, about her life in science, her motivations, the challenges she has faced and her advice for up-and-coming women scientists.
"...in order to retain and attract more women into our field, we need to make changes at the top... I have seen change over the last few years, but I think there is still a massive amount to do, including addressing diversity".
Women in Vision UK also spoke to Dr Helen Baker, Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Lead for the NIHR Moorfields BRC team, about her experience working in a lab at the start of her career.
