This Google site is for local-authority-based Research Practitioners who work closely with their regional CRN Clinical Director, Public Health Clinical Research Specialty Lead and Research Delivery Manager for Public Health.
Public Health Practitioners from all fifteen local research networks will have access to this Google site.
Two platforms will be used to help facilitate your role.
MS Teams will be used for monthly meetings. Channels will be set up within your MS Teams space to enable conversation on specific projects and queries between your meetings. MS Teams also provides the opportunity to record meetings and run transcripts which is beneficial for ensuring the accessibility of the meeting space for all participants.
This Google site will be used to enable you to access useful documents housed on a Google drive.
These roles have been created to support public health in the following ways;
Expanding the local and national public health NIHR portfolio
Providing research delivery support for research outside of the NHS
Connecting local authority colleagues with the NIHR, NIHR CRN and existing regional academic networks (e.g. PHE research hub, NUPHE, ADPH, HEE, AHSN)
Contributing to a regional network to foster communication and collaborations between public health researchers and practitioners across organisations outside the NHS
Fostering integration of public health research and health and social care delivery.
Helping to develop a research aware and research ready local public health workforce that can deliver the NIHR CRN wider remit.
The role description is flexible so that it provides the most appropriate support for the local authority within which it will be based and the local requirements for research.
