Life Science Retreat 2025

The Life Science Retreat

The Life Science Retreat is an academic course designed to promote academic information exchange among students and faculty across various fields within the life sciences—such as Genetics, Basic biology, Physiological sciences, Integrative evolutionary science, and related disciplines—all of which share a common foundation in life science research. Organized and managed primarily by student representatives, the Life Science Retreat will provide good opportunity to create a concentrated setting for in-depth discussions. All participating students are required to present posters summarizing their past or ongoing research. Outstanding posters will be recognized with awards. Further details will be announced at a later date.

Notice to Students

[Common]

• In accordance with the objectives of the Life Science Retreat, all participants are required to present a poster.

• Please submit your registration, abstract and other necessary information via the designed forms.

• If you do not register for the course, all expenses will be your own responsibility. 

[Students from the Four Courses]

• Be sure to complete your course registration during SOKENDAI fall semester course registration period.

[Students from outside the Four Courses]

• SOKENDAI student who wish to receive credits for the Life Science Retreat should register for the course in the same way as students from the four courses.

• SOKENDAI students are requested to come to their nearest institution, from which a chartered bus will transport them to the venue. If you register the course, SOKENDAI will provide your roundtrip expenses from your home to the nearest institution, and accommodation expenses if you need to stay overnight. Please apply for this subsides through your program office. Transportation from the nearest institution to the venue, hotel accommodation during the Life Science Retreat, and meals will be covered by SOKENDAI, so no individual reimbursement is required.  For details regarding student travel expenses, please refer to the SOKENDAI website:  (https://www.soken.ac.jp/education/dispatch/trv_supp/index.html)

• Students from other universities cannot register for the course(Participation in the poster presentation is possible)
