はじめに
ミヤコグサ Lotus japonicusは、日本を含むアジアの温帯地域に広く自生しているマメ科の草本植物です。
ライフサイクルが短く実験室内での培養や実験が容易であることから、マメ科のモデル植物として世界中で広く利用されています。
私たちは、ミヤコグサが根粒菌やアーバスキュラー菌根菌と共生する仕組みや発生、進化の解明に取り組んでいます。
Lotus japonicus is a leguminous herb widely distributed in temperate regions of Asia, including Japan. Due to its short life cycle and the ease of laboratory cultivation and genetic analysis, it has become a popular model legume worldwide in recent years. Using Lotus japonicus, we are working to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of plant-microbe symbiosis and its evolutionary development, focusing on interactions with rhizobia and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
