Allergy Alert - We are a NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT 

ANAPHYLAXIS & ALLERGY AWARENESS

At the beginning of each school year, we remind all students and parents/guardians of the Niagara Catholic District School Board Anaphylaxis Policy. At St. Michael Catholic School, we have students with Emergency Guidelines that clearly outline the medical procedures required for those with life-threatening medical conditions.

Anaphylaxis is a serious medical emergency that requires immediate first aid and prompt medical intervention. For this reason, we ask all parents and guardians to carefully read product labels, particularly for items that may contain nuts or nut by-products. To help protect all students, we ask for your full cooperation in maintaining a nut-free environment at our school.

If your child has a severe allergy or medical condition, please ensure this information is clearly indicated on the Student Information Form, as this allows us to respond quickly and appropriately in an emergency.

In addition, please do not send baked goods or food treats to be shared with classmates for birthdays or special occasions. This helps us manage allergy concerns and follow our Board Nutrition Policy. If you wish to send in something to celebrate, non-food items such as pencils, bubbles, stickers, or small trinkets are always welcome alternatives.
