Although the last season did not go as well as we planned it to be, we did get to learn a number of crucial things to improve upon for the upcoming 2019 season. In the 2018 season, we finished with a record of 10-16-0 overall. At Granite State District Event, we ranked 11th out of 37 teams, and at North Shore District Event, we ranked 16th out of 40 teams. Overall the 2018 game FIRST Power Up was a lot a fun for us and a huge learning experience for all of us.
As a final goodbye to FIRST Steamworks, we attended RiverRage and competed with 32 other teams. We had a great time getting back into competition spirit, as well as introducing new team members to how FIRST events run. We placed 5th after 4 qualification matches and went on to be the alliance captain with teams 4909, Bionics, and 5813, Morpheus, who was substituted by 6328, Mechanical Advantage when their robot stopped working unexpectedly. Unfortunately, we did not make it out of quarterfinals, but we are still thrilled with the outcome of the event. We may attend another offseason event, but we aren't certain yet. Stay posted for more details.
We are working on beginning our 2018 competition season! We are preparing our new members and our 2017 robot for the RiverRage 21 offseason event hosted by team 501, The PowerKnights. We are rebuilding the robot after intensive wear and tear from demos and outreach within the community. See you at RiverRage!
While we were not able to participate at the New England District Championship due to our district rank, we did qualify for and go on to win the Rookie All-Star Award! A special thanks to all of our team members for their exceptional work this season.
This award qualifies us to participate at the World Championship in St. Louis, MO in a few weeks. Be sure to follow our progress on TBA!
Granite State District results are in! After a tough qualifying schedule, we seeded 24th overall and allied with teams 1100 and 1517 in the elimination rounds. While we did not advance to the Semifinals, we were able to make a concrete plan for improving our robot in preparation for our next event. See you all at North Shore District, March 17-19th!
