¡Hola! ¡Bienvenidos!

My name is María Elena Gaborov Jones—also known as "Profe Jones"—and I teach Spanish at Ashley High School.

I was born and raised in Córdoba, Argentina, and I moved to the United States in 2010. 

I have a MA in Spanish from UNCW, a graduate certificate in Teaching Foreign Language Education from UNCC, a MA in Translation and Interpretation, and a postgraduate degree in Scientific and Technical Translation from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. 

What I enjoy the most is spending time with my husband and my daughters. I love fostering children, traveling, Italian language and culture, and soccer!

I hope to share my passion for the Spanish language and the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. I look forward to learning together with my students.
