4th Grade Recorders

Learning to play the recorder is fun! The recorder is an instrument from the woodwind family.  Learning to play the recorder is a great way to introduce students to the typical woodwind instruments they would hear in an orchestra or concert band.  The fingerings the students learn on the recorder are the same as the fingerings on many of the other woodwinds like clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone, etc.  Students work in cooperative learning groups to practice their recorder songs in class.  Students are encouraged to take their recorders home to reinforce what they learn in music class.  Students will have an opportunity to play their song one on one with me so they may earn their Recorder Karate "belt".  Keep scrolling to find the tutorial links to all of the songs we learn throughout the Recorder Karate Program.
