Health Careers Day on “The Hill” provides students interested in health professions with an opportunity to visit the UNC Chapel Hill campus, engage with health professional programs, and gain firsthand exposure to careers in healthcare.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about health career pathways, connect with current students and professionals, and explore the resources available at UNC Chapel Hill.

Registration Options:

• Individual registration will be available for students who would like to attend independently.

Internship opportunity for students interested in healthcare fields. 

• Application Window: August 25 – September 4, 2026

• Program Dates: October 19 – December 4, 2026

• Eligibility: This opportunity is open to high school juniors and seniors only.

Novant Health’s NHRMC Healthcare Explorer Program to get

hands-on experience and learn from healthcare professionals

across a wide array of specialties.

Our six-month program covers different service areas such as:

•  Emergency & Trauma Services

•  Surgical Services

•  Cardiology & Respiratory Care Services

•  Allied Health Services

•  Class of 2026-2027 Commencement Ceremony

Explorers Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Rehab Gym.
