Schedule

7:15-7:40:  Arrival, Reading, and Eating Breakfast.  Miss Cahill checks in with each student, and goes over any words they did not know from the prior night's reading.

7:40-7:45:  Calendar.  One of the biggest math skills we learn in first grade is how to add ten or subtract 10 from any number.  Much of that teaching happens in the calendar lesson.

7:45-8:45:  Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Buddy Read.  We start out with Heggerty and I emphsize that I want to see all eyes and mouths!  We transition into phonics, learning new decoding and encoding skills.  Finally, we get with partners and give each partner a chance to read and ask questions about what they read.

Tuesday - Art

Wednesday - PE
