Communication Folder and Behavior Expectations
Communication Folder- There will be a binder sent home daily with important information inside. In the middle, there will be a pouch that can hold lunch money or notes. Behind the pencil pouch, there will be a calendar of the month with important dates and this will also be behavior calendar.
In one pocket, this will hold monthly optional homework and sight words. In the other pocket, there will be activities that your child completed that will be going home. It is very important to return folder daily.
Behavior Expectations- As a parent myself, I like to keep expectations simple and communication as well. On the date of the calendar, there will be a color each day. The behavior chart is a positive reinforcement where the children will have positive praise given throughout the day. If they do make a mistake or a repeated mistake, they can earn their way back. The goal is to end on green, blue, or purple.
Chart color meaning -
Purple- Outstanding! a true role model and star leader of class
Blue- Awesome Day
Green- Great Day and this is where they begin daily
yellow- a warning after not listening one time already
orange- continuous behavior and not correcting behavior
red- More severe behavior (fighting, oppositional to the extreme, etc. )
If there is a severe behavior, of course, parents will receive a phone call.
