HELLO and WELCOME 

       Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Murray Middle School!  My name is Kelly Oakley and I have been an ELA/SS teacher for 18 years. This will be my 8th year at Murray Middle School! am that person that dreamed of being a teacher when I was little, and I am still living that dream! My goal for this year is to help all of our students develop and maintain good organizational, social and academic habits while navigating the new digital landscape.

      I have lived in southern Wilmington for 15 years with my husband, two dogs and two daughters. I lived in the Outer Banks (Avon and Buxton on Hatteras Island) for several years before deciding to settle in Wilmington. I love the outdoors! My favorite things to do are ANYTHING involving saltwater (surfing, fishing, boating, swimming), hiking out west, live music, working in my mini-orchard and garden, and playing with ALL animals. I love all adventures with my family. 

    I am ALWAYS excited to meet my students each and every year. We spend one half of a year together and truly become a little family--and I am excited to welcome my newest family members!
