Carolina Beach School is located about an hour and thirty minutes south of one of the largest Military bases in the United Stated Marine Corps, Camp Lejeune. In addition, just twenty minutes away and directly across the Cape Fear River is the Army's largest secured shipping and receiving terminal, Sunny Point. We have active duty children and retired families of Military men and woman who live and work in the Carolina Beach and surrounding greater Wilmington area. This website is a resource for those families, while working in conjunction with the surrounding military communities, to provide transition resources and ensuring student success. Below, you will find a current list of programs and services for area military families, including current enrollment guidelines.
We hope that this information will assist you in making a seamless transition into our school family. If you have any questions that may not be answered on this page, please feel free to contact Magen Myers at Magen.Myers@nhcs.net or 910-458-4340

During the 2026-2027 School Year, Carolina Beach School will be applying to earn our Purple Star Award. For more details, please see below:
North Carolina is home to a large population of active duty, guard, reserve, and veteran armed services members, and the state’s public schools reflect that. In 2019, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction launched the Purple Star Award Designation initiative to recognize the state’s strong military presence and its support for military families. The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families.
