Homework: We will have homework each night in this class BUT it is NEVER for a grade! I give homework dojo points just for trying. If students do not do their homework they will not be penalized but they will not receive extra points. If you have trouble completing homework let me know & I will help however I can!

Wit & Wisdom: Is our reading curriculum! It is a knowledge-based reading curriculum and it is definitely rigorous. Students have been exposed to the structure and routines of this since kindergarten! We get to DIVE into multiple books and explore different connections to answer our essential questions.

Fundations: Fundations is the phonics curriculum, and students have been exposed to the exact structure and routines since Kindergarten! This curriculum provides systematic and explicit phonics instruction. 

Eureka: Is our math curriculm and students have had this since Kindergarten. It is designed to allow students to develop deep conceptual understanding of mathematics that will prepare them for their future!

Dive: Dive time is a time for students to work in small groups and get the support they need in both math and reading. Dive is first thing in the morning (Monday-Thursday). We use Friday as a day to progress monitor and see if students need to move groups. 

Power Up: Power up is another small group time but this is in the classroom. Students may be pulled from class during this time to receive support from other teachers like speech, OT, etc. In the classroom we work in small groups and practice skills to be successful in reading/math. 

Learning should be FUN!

I truly believe that learning should be fun and students should be moving and interacting in positve ways with their peers. We will be doing LOTS of fun activities this year and if you want to help just reach out! :)
