About Mrs. Locklear 

Welcome to 5th Grade!

This is my eighth year in education and my sixth year with New Hanover County Schools. After teaching in special education and upper elementary, I am excited to be entering my second year teaching 5th grade. I am currently pursuing my master's degree as I continue to grow as an educator and lifelong learner.

Outside of the classroom, I am a mom-to-be and a proud dog mom! I love spending time with my family, staying active at the gym, and enjoying the outdoors whenever I can.

My greatest passion is building meaningful relationships with my students and helping them discover their strengths. I believe every child is capable of success, and I strive to create a positive, engaging classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their goals. I look forward to partnering with families to make this an exciting and successful school year!
