About Me

My name is Melissa Himes and I am an EC teacher at Wrightsboro Elementary. I am returning to Wrightsboro Elementary and am so excited start this wonderful school this year! I have been in EC for 5 years.

I previously taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. After some thought, I decided to move from General Education into the field of Special Education, 

 I obtained my degree in Education from UNCW - Watson College of Education in 2015. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in education and am so excited to be teaching again this year!

In my spare time, I love puzzling and am actually part of a competitive puzzling team. I spend time with my husband  Chad, and daughter Makayla, who graduated college in May 2023. I also love cuddling with my two dogs Jace, and Kiki Jiki, and my cat Ajani.
