Women's Tennis
SUMMER WORK OUT SCHEDULE
All Physicals and proper documentation must be filled out and turned in into the DragonFly Max Program or else you will not be allowed to participate in summer workouts.
*Please make sure you are choosing the 2024-2025 season. Must be done by June 25th to be eligible for the first workout*

UPDATED TRYOUTS
Tryouts will be held at Laney High School Tennis Courts on the following dates:
-Monday, July 31st: 7-9:00AM
-Tuesday, August 1st: 7-9:00AM
-Wednesday August 2nd: 7-9:00AM
Roster will be posted in alphabetical order on the evening of August 2nd.
I have attached the updated women's tennis schedule for this summer. Please note: we will be running daily, so all girls should show up with running shoes if they do not want to run in their Tennis Shoes.
Key Dates:
June 24th: First Day of Workouts
July 1-7: Dead Period
July 15-21: Dead Period
July 31-August 2: Tryouts/ Season Begins
August 8th: Laney Women's Tennis Scrimmage HOME VS Durham Academy
August 20: Laney Women's Tennis Scrimmage HOME VS N. Myrtle High School
On the calendar, you will see that each workout has a daily "theme."
These themes include:
Muscle Mondays
Muscle Mondays will be held at the Laney Weight Room from 8am-10am
On Mondays, students will split into pairs or teams to complete workout circuits primarily focused on strength
I will be outside of the Laney Gym each morning from 8:00-8:10am (if you are late, you will have to find me)
What to Bring
Arrive in gym clothes and have appropriate running shoes
Refillable water bottle
Headphones
***Because Planet Fitness is a real gym, girls who attend these sessions are expected to be focused and on their best behavior so we do not interfere with anyone else's workout***
Tennis Tuesdays
Tennis Tuesdays will take place at the Laney High School Tennis Courts from 8am-10am
Tuesdays will be dedicated to drills, strategy and game play
What to Bring
Arrive in tennis clothes (must be able to store a tennis ball) and have appropriate tennis shoes
Tennis Racket
Refillable water bottle and lots of refill bottles
Speaker (if anyone has one)
#Winning Wednesdays
#Winning Wednesdays will be take place at the Laney High School Tennis Courts from 8am-10am
This day will be purely match play bracket style
What to Bring
Arrive in tennis clothes (must be able to store a tennis ball) and have appropriate tennis shoes
Tennis Racket
Refillable water bottle
Frog tog/ rag
Thirsty Thursdays
Thirsty Thursdays will take place on at the Laney High School Tennis Courts and on the track from 8am-10am
"Thirsty Thursdays" = cardio = you need to bring lots of water.
This day is meant to be intense to gain back stamina lost over the year
It is imperative that athletes are prepared to withstand their opponent in the heat and this is something we MUST train for
Thirsty Thursdays will consist of a lot of running drills
We will still be doing tennis drills on this day but they will be primarily focused on stamina
What to Bring
Arrive in tennis clothes (must be able to store a tennis ball)
Running shoes AND Tennis shoes
Tennis Racket
Refillable bottle and LOTS OF WATER AND GATORADE/ ELECTROLYTES
Protein Snack/ Bar (please do not show up to this workout on an empty stomach)
Headphones
Speaker (if you have one)
Frog Tog/ Cooling Rag in a cooler
I would love for us to schedule group lessons with a tennis pro a couple times this summer (this would be for a fee) if anyone knows a tennis pro that would be interested in helping us. I am also wanting to do different workouts throughout the summer, ex. sunrise beach run, if athletes are interested. If anyone has any suggestions for additional activities please let me know!
