Welcome to body conditioning class! I look forward to working with you this semester. I hope you find the information below helpful in understanding class expectations and procedures.
Class Rules:
ü Be on time to class.
ü Be prepared for class.
ü Respect other students and weight room property.
ü Return weights and equipment to their proper place every day.
ü No food or drinks allowed, EXCEPT water.
ü NO CELL PHONES IN CLASS.
Proper Class Attire:
ü Proper attire includes: athletic shorts, sweat pants, yoga pants, and t-shirts.
ü Proper footwear: athletic shoes.
ü NOT ALLOWED: pajama pants, spaghetti straps, tank tops, spandex/compression shorts, sandals, flip flops, boots, or dressy shoes.
Proper workout attire and athletic shoes are required for participation every day. For safety purposes, if a student does not dress out properly, they are not allowed to workout that day, and will receive a zero.
Grading System:
ü Each day is worth 20 points.
ü Full participation is expected in weightlifting, conditioning/agility drills, and core work.
ü Athletes are expected to participate on game days. A modified workout will be assigned on game days.
ü MAKEUP WORK- When a student is absent, she receives a zero for that day. In order to remove that zero, the student is expected to complete a summary of an article that relates to nutrition, physical conditioning/fitness, weightlifting, etc…Alternative makeup assignments can be found on my teacher webpage.
Students will be tested (max outs) two times throughout the entire semester. This test measures the student’s progress and improvement on the following:
ü Bench Press
ü Squat
ü Clean
ü Incline Bench
ü Dead Lift
ü Power Clean
ü Push Press
Final Exam:
If a student is not exempt from body conditioning, then they will be required to complete the final exam workout on the assigned exam day.
