Each underclassmen is required to complete either a scientific or history based investigation which will compete at the school fair in December or January. Students may chose to work with a partner or work alone. We strongly recommend students find a science mentor in the community to help them with their project.
We will have about 6 deadlines to meet through the fall semester. Here are the tentative science fair dates and details which are subject to change but will be updated on this site if they are made.
Deadline #1- Science Interest & Survey Form Link- - Complete by Monday 8/18/25

Deadline #2- Due Thursday 9/4/25 (5 weeks into semester)- Select 3 possible topics (Engineering, E/E, Bio, Chem, Physics). Find and summarize articles that interest you and create an annotated bibliography. Identify 2 possible mentors. Write an answerable question for each topic that you could make into an experiment.

Deadline #3- Due Thursday 9/25/25 (8 weeks)- Fill out basic experimental design (observations, question, variables, hypothesis, procedures, equipment, mentor, etc). Fill out required paperwork (use ISEF rules wizard linked below) and show Mr. Bishop on Monday.

Deadline #4- Due Monday 10/13/25 (11 weeks)- Turn in a 3-5 page research paper on selected topic with 3+ sources in MLA format.
Deadline #5- Due Tuesday 11/10/25 (15 weeks)- Submit One Preliminary Procedure and Collected Data Table
Deadline #6- Due Tuesday 11/1/25 (18 weeks)- Turn in Good Draft of Poster Image (Editing Day)
Deadline #7- Tentative Date- Friday January 9th, 2026- Science & History Fair Presentation Day
