Students I am excited to be your science mentor as I enter my 28th year of teaching high school science. After earning my Bachelors of Science degree in Marine Biology at Eckerd College in St Petersburg Florida, I then taught marine science, algebra, biology and earth science for four years at St. Petersburg Florida High School. After that I moved to North Carolina to earn my masters of education at UNC Wilmington while teaching science classes at Ashley High School for six years. For the last sixteen years I have been teaching science at Isaac Bear and running the Science Olympiad Team.
During my summers I am a kayak guide taking guests to Zeke's Island, Masonboro Island and Shark Tooth Island. Away from school I love to play beach volleyball, disc golf and SCUBA dive offshore. I live in Carolina Beach with my wife Kari, two children Brynn and Bennett and my happy dog Kovi. My favorite activity in the world is snorkeling over a coral reef in clear turquoise waters.
