AIG Nomination
If you would like to nominate someone to be considered for identification, please read about the process below and click on the link to complete your nomination: Open AIG Nomination
OR, click here for the Formulario de Nominacion in Spanish.
Nominations are accepted at any time. However, the nomination process is completed August through January 24th in order to take advantage of 1st semester grades and work samples.
Students will receive a nomination packet in January to complete and return to me. This nomination packet includes:
Student Self-Assessment

Student Work Samples that show above grade level work (for the area of expected differentiation): Math, Reading, or Reading and Math
In February/March, a Match Team composed of the AIG Specialist (who is also an English teacher), a guidance counselor, Math Teacher, and an adminstrator will review the application. A determination will then be made about the next step. The possible outcomes of this meeting include:
Placement in the AIG program
Need for further testing
Does not receive placement in the AIG program
Any necessary testing will be completed in time for a determination to be made about placement within a few weeks of the initial match team meeting whenever possible.
Once a student is identified a Differentiated Education Plan (DEP) will be created for the student to be reviewed by both the student and parents before it is finalized in April. This DEP will be maintained on a yearly basis throughout the student's high school career.
