American History is one of the 4 required Social Studies you must pass to receive your High School Diploma.
Concepts/Units of Study
This course is an overview of American History from the launching of the Constitution to the present day. We will look at:
-Revolution and new Government
-Forging a new Nation
-Nationalism, Reform, and Expansion
-Manifest Destiny, Civil War and Reconstruction
-The West, Populism, and the New South
-The Gilded Age and Progressive Era
-Imperialism and the WW1
-The Roaring 20’s and the Great Depression
-WWII and early Cold War
-The Civil Rights Movement and late Cold War
-Cold War Ends and the 21st Century
Materials—3 ring binder
-Pen/Pencil (Test day you need a pencil)
-Highlighter—optional
-When given out your LAPTOP Bring Every day!!!!
Class Rules
-RESPECT Other’s Property and Ideas—even if you don’t like or agree
-Be on Time— (Know the tardy policy for the school! Please ask if you have any questions)
-Be Prepared—all materials are required
-Work is Due on Due Date—you are informed ahead of time so don’t procrastinate
-Come Ready to Work, Learn and Participate Every day!!!—no sleeping, or other work
