Jenny Han writes stories that feel like they’re about you, like your first crush, your best friend, summer freedom, and the small moments that change everything. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia to Korean-American parents, she went from dreaming up journals as a kid to becoming a #1 New York Times bestselling author with titles such as To All the Boys I've Loved Before and The Summer I Turned Pretty. Both of these titles have been adapted for screen.
What teens love about her? Her characters are real, her settings feel familiar (think yes to summer, friendship, family dinners), and she shows how one moment can change everything. Whether she’s writing, producing, or even popping up as a cameo in her own stories, Jenny Han reminds us that the stories we love start with someone just like us.
Jenny once worked as a children's librarian before becoming a full-time author.
Her debut novel, Shug, was published in 2006 while she was still in college.
