Program of Study
Development: Instructional content for the Coaching Endorsement was developed by experienced instructional leaders with extensive knowledge in adult learning, curriculum implementation, teacher development, and data-driven coaching practices. Course developers intentionally aligned the program content with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Rule 505-3-.85, which outlines the content standards for preparing educators to serve in coaching roles across P–12 settings.
Each course incorporates a foundation in adult learning theory, coaching models, and school-based leadership while embedding current research and tools for reflective practice, data use, and instructional improvement. Candidates engage with authentic coaching scenarios, interactive learning experiences, and evidence-based frameworks to build the knowledge and dispositions needed to support both novice and veteran educators. The coursework emphasizes ethical practice, collaboration, and ongoing professional learning—ensuring candidates are well-equipped to guide continuous improvement efforts in diverse school contexts.
Purpose: The purpose of the Coaching Endorsement is to prepare educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as instructional coaches who improve teaching and learning through collaboration, facilitation, and evidence-based practices. Aligned with GaPSC Rule 505-3-.85, this endorsement equips candidates to support adult learning, foster professional growth, and lead data-informed instructional improvement within schools and districts. Educators completing this endorsement develop competencies in communication, coaching cycles, professional learning design, assessment literacy, and change leadership. The program is intended for experienced educators who are ready to serve in mentoring, coaching, or teacher leadership roles across grade levels and content areas.
