Hello! My name is Kylie Sweeter and I am the K-12 school counselor at Newman Grove Public Schools. I grew up on a farm near North Bend, Nebraska. After high school, I attended South Dakota State University and received a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education, Communication, and Leadership. I started teaching Agriculture Education and serving as an FFA Advisor in 2010 at Newman Grove High School. In 2013 I earned my endorsement in K-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education through Concordia University. In 2014 I earned my masters degree in K-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education through Concordia University. I am currently working on a masters degree for K-12 school counseling through Chadron State College.
I am married to Jared Sweeter and we have three children, Cash, Hadley, and Coy. We enjoy spending time with our family, friends, and livestock.
Counseling Services:
Individual Counseling - Sessions can be made through teacher referral, student, or parent requests. Through these sessions I will make referrals to outside agencies for more support.
Drop-In Counseling - Students are able to see me with urgent concerns
Group Counseling - Will address similar concerns with a small group of students
Classroom Guidance - Provided to classes K-6th grade/10th Grade Careers Course/Senior Careers Course
Referrals--Due to the limitations of my time and scope, I can recommend / refer for outside counseling and resources when necessary.
Parent Support - Parents can see me about academic challenges/successes, family crises, and/or behavior improvement. Please contact me at school via email or phone.
