Our student school bus rules are designed to ensure every student has safe transportation to and from school and school-sponsored activities. Any violation of these rules may be sufficient reason to discontinue bus transportation privileges to the student involved for a length of time determined by the transportation department.
Follow the directions of the driver the first time given without negative feedback.
Show respect for the bus driver and other passengers.
Go directly to an available seat or your assigned seat when entering the bus.
Talk quietly to others in your immediate area; do not talk or shout to other students.
Keep aisles and exits clear (and all body parts and personal items out of the aisle).
Do not scream, yell, whistle or make other distracting noises.
Do not use profanity or make obscene gestures to anyone inside or outside the school bus.
Do not yell, throw, or extend any object or body part out the bus window.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Do not hit, shove, push, kick or trip someone else,
There is to be silence when the bus is stops at railroad crossings; electronic devices are to be off.
Do not take pictures/videos—or pretend to-- with any device, including a cell phone.
Do not share any electronic device, including a cell phone, with others on the bus.
When listening to music or any other audio on the bus, use a private audio listening device to prevent other students from hearing what is being played.
Do not spit or throw anything in the bus or out the window.
Law prohibits transportation of glass on a school bus. Containers made of glass such as vases and baking dishes cannot be brought onto the bus.
Keep everything in your backpack unless you are reading or doing homework. Keep your area of the bus clean—if you drop something, pick it up.
Eating is not allowed without permission. Treats and food of any kind brought on the bus from home or from school are to be placed in a separate bag, placed in your backpack and are to remain in the backpack. Water is the only beverage you are allowed to drink on the bus.
Do not make rude remarks, harass, bully or otherwise threaten the bus driver or other students.
Do not touch or take another student’s property.
Live animals (insects, fish, snakes, etc.) are prohibited with the exception of service animals.
Remain properly seated at all times while the bus is in motion—face forward, back against the back of the seat; your bottom against the bottom of the seat.
Never stand up or walk while the bus is in motion. When you arrive at school or your bus stop, stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop, and the driver opens the door.
Put the hood of your outerwear down when entering and exiting the bus.
The law prohibits the transportation of aerosol and flammable products on school buses. Due to number of students who have fragrance allergies, products with heavy perfumes as Axe body spray & deodorant are not to be sprayed on the bus.
Possession of tobacco, alcohol or drugs and any related paraphernalia is prohibited.
Possession of a weapon or item resembling a weapon such as a toy knife or squirt gun is prohibited.
Do not touch any controls or operational devices of the bus (unless the bus driver is incapacitated).
Students must present and scan their school ID card in order to get on and off the bus.
