The description in the 1976-77 yearbook for Cheerleaders:

This year's Varsity cheerleaders started preparing for their season in the summer with cheerleading camp. They spent a week with instructors from the Dynamic Cheerleading association and area cheerleaders. This sharing of ideas and thoughts added to the creativity of Newton Falls Cheerleaders. Despite a losing season for the Freshmen Basketball team, the cheerleaders always maintained their spirit and enthusiasm. They worked hard to improve their skills and to uplift the team's spirit. Instead of losing confidence in the team, the cheerleaders displayed constant support. The Junior Varsity and 8th grade cheerleaders cheered their respective teams on to many victories. They displayed tremendous effort in supporting their teams.
