Julia Laituri is the band teacher at Horace Mann High School, directing the Oriole Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and the Pit Orchestra. She is elated to be joining Oriole Nation this year. Julia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelors in Music Education. Prior to coming to North Fond du Lac, Julia taught elementary orchestra in the Fond du Lac School District, high school orchestra in Sun Prairie, and completed her student teaching in the Greendale School District.
Julia is an active member of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
During her time at UW Whitewater, Julia completed an Undergraduate Research Project "Polka in Wisconsin's Heritage" and presented at the national conference in Spokane, Washington. Julia is an active freelance trumpet player.
Julia resides in Fond du Lac with her husband Zach. When not doing something music related, she can be found teaching at the Milwaukee County Zoo, baking, knitting, or spending time with family and friends.
