10/3-10/17/18/21

Students have learn the basics of the new technique "4 arts to a picture" in a guided activity and are now trying it on their own with a slightly more difficult picture. They may work together to mark out the parts but they must complete the drawing on their own. They will have 2 days for this if needed and everyone is working consistently in class. After they are writing a reflection on the process to force them to look back and see what they learned and how it can help them.

6a (CF kids) was due on 10/17 Last in class work day 10/14

6c (BE Kids) was due on 10/21 Last in class work day 10/16

9/30-10/2

Students started new project 4 parts of a picture. In the past student have learned to build pictures through combining shapes to get the basic form and refining it with detail. They have also learned how to draw through figuring out it's structure and then adding around it (meat and Bones). This project students are learning how to break an image down into it's four parts (circle, dot, straight line, and curved line) and through the breaking down better understand the picture in order to redraw it. It helps students learn to take drawing a step at a time and see the picture not as an image itself (which can be overwhelming) but as parts of a whole. This is a short project and should only take 2-3 classes. (through10/10 10/16 if need more time)

9/23-9/27 students are beginning their review of elements of art. but they all did so great on the review I was able to keep it to one day.
