Dear Parents and Guardians
Welcome to Term 3. I hope you all had a lovely break. I hope the forthcoming year of the Rabbit may brings us all longevity, peace and prosperity.
It has been great to share Chinese New Year customs and celebrations with our learners and Chinese department. I hope the forthcoming year of the Rabbit may brings us all longevity, peace and prosperity.
As a diverse international community we recognise that Lunar New Year is culturally significant for many other parts of our community and we we welcome your input as to how we can share this more widely across our community. The NCG and school really want to make everyone feel included in the Nexus community and are always looking for ways for people to share their cultures, expertice and
Our Year 11 and Year 13 have been working hard through their trial exams and showing us what they can do. These exams are not just about the grades but the exam preparation and exam technique. Learning is not a destination it is a process and a process that hopefully never stops. What learners do with feedback and how they reflect and grow from their experiences is so important. New Year is always a fresh start and an opportunity to reflect and set goals. Reports were published at the end of last term. These and the on-going live feedback through Canvas should help you to understand your child's learning journey to work with us to support them to meet their goals.
Having a focus or goal can be important and can help motivate and direct your child. So much of academic success is underpinned by reading ability and the lexicon a learner has. The importance of building vocabulary can never be underestimated and if you are making new year resolutions, encouraging your child to read more would be a great one!
May I take the opportunity to wish you all Happy Lunar New Year
