Life continues in our creative community, despite the restrictions in place due to Covid-19. In our amazing Auditorium we have the cast of Hairspray who are putting the finishing touches to their production. This is being filmed so that it can be shared with the whole Nexus community so that we avoid a large gathering. As you can see from this photo the astonishingly large LED screen can provide the most impressive of backdrops at the touch of a button!
Nexus Beats VI last Wednesday was a real success. As per Hairspray this event was filmed and was actually live streamed around the world to great success . We had several bands performing self-composed songs and cover versions with great flair. You can read more here.
Our Year 9 learners benefited from the visit of two design engineers this week as they progress through their Green Technology project in the Science Megalab. I visited their lessons last week and they have the most amazing ideas! You can see some pictures of Science as well as learning in many other learning areas here.
The fundraiser organised by some talented Primary learners to support the animals and people affected by the Australian bushfires was a great success. There were lots of imaginative costumes on view across the school and it was a fun day to support a serious issue.
With only three weeks to go we are heading rapidly towards the final IGCSE and IB examinations for Years 11 and 13. These learners have all been briefed about the importance of avoiding a two week Stay Home Notice (SHN) by choosing carefully their travel destinations for the March break.
Finally, over the last fortnight our school campus has had its photos taken for the Yearbook (see below). Next week, it is the turn of the learners! Please view the schedule under 'Upcoming Events' to find the day your child will be involved in the photos. On the day of the photograph, please ensure your child comes to school in full school uniform.
Thank you.
