Y11 Study leave begins on Thursday 21st of April. The Y11s have worked very hard under challenging circumstances and we wish them the best for their IGCSE exams. The exam timetable is here, please note the late start time for Edexcel exams.
Learners will be able to access their results online from August the 14th, login information has been provided to Y11s already. Physical certificates will be available from October. If you are leaving Singapore please provide a forwarding address or email with Learner Services so we can make delivery arrangements.
If learners are unable to sit their exams for medical reasons (including COVID), they must present a medical certificate within 5 days. We will apply for special consideration with the exam boards on their behalf, the respective exam boards will decide if a grade can be awarded based on each case. Please note: 1) self-administered ART tests will not be acceptable evidence with exam boards, 2) general MCs are usually not accepted either, they must contain specific issue/s and reasons for why a learner cannot sit exams.
Please check your child has either the latest version of the SafeEntry app or a working token to support SafeEntry check-in each morning.
A working token should have a light flashing every minute. If it does not, it needs to be manually scanned which slows down the entry process for your child and others. Tokens work for approximately 6 months before they need replacing.
New tokens can be obtained for free from community centres; you can find the nearest one with a vending machine here.
Singapore has a reputation as a safe place and as such you may allow your children more freedom than you would in other countries. Whilst children are largely safe in many places across Singapore we can not be too complacent and must make sure learners understand that there are some adults who may try to take advantage of them. It has come to our attention that older adult males are preying on young girls at skate parks. They are offering them alcohol and pills in order to lower their defences so that they can try and take advantage of them. Please make sure your child knows not to accept drink and other things from strangers and understands that older adults wanting to hang out with young people will often have an ulterior motive. We will continue to educate our learners regards how to respond to inappropriate advances and how to avoid putting themselves at risk. Please work with us by making sure your child recognises inappropriate interactions with adults and is always able to make informed choices.
