The last two weeks have been quiet by Nexus standards as we have followed the government guidelines regarding Covid-19. The daily temperature checks have become the norm and learners have been so helpful and understanding of the protocols we have put into place. The cancelled Year 11/13 Parents Evening was rapidly replaced by written reports which were published on Wednesday of this week - many thanks to the teachers for getting these done so quickly.
In this newsletter we have taken the opportunity to focus upon some of the outstanding Teaching and Learning which happens throughout the school. Teachers and learners are really enjoying the new spaces and are making full use of the opportunities they provide.
Ms Aine has made an excellent start to her time as our University Guidance Counsellor and her work is being recognised well beyond Nexus as she forms relationships with higher education providers across the globe. Cialfo, the company behind our university choice software even featured her in a recent article they published on Facebook. Ms Aine also provides a really interesting update on the university admissions process on this page.
Sport Training sessions have recommenced this week and this is good for everyone, even though there are currently no ACSIS competitions to look forward to. Learners will choose their Season 3 CCAs next week - please encourage them to make good choices and perhaps take a risk or two and try something new!
Keep maintaining good hygiene habits at home and have a good weekend.
