Please note that the IGCSE examination boards do not confirm the timetable until Term 3. It is worth noting these have run from April to the end of June and you may want to delay booking any flights until the schedule is confirmed. Nexus has no control over these dates and they can run on public holidays and into the summer holidays. We will share the schedule as soon as it is available.
Nexus holds trial examinations for Year 11 learners from 9th January to 20th January and for Year 10 learners from 10th April to 20th April. These are deliberately placed to allow maximum teaching to have occurred before the assessments to ensure realistic experiences for learners and authentic feedback on their performance. These dates also ensure that there is sufficient time for learners to work with their teachers to maximise their chances of success.
The IB have published a provisional schedule for the May 2023 examinations which run between April 27th and May 19th. Please note Nexus has no control over these dates and they can run on public holidays.
SwimFest for Year 7, 8 and 9 is on Wednesday 10th May 9am-11am. Parents are invited to watch from the level 2 walkway.
Our Year 9 learners have been working hard on their ideas for their Community Project. In their groups they have reflected on their own strengths and areas of interest which has helped them to identify issues within a chosen community. Through one type of service; direct service, indirect service, research or advocacy, the learners have been planning their action. Some key dates to note are:
Thursday 27th April 9.40-10.40am
Learners will be off timetable for an hour and working on reflections and planning for the exhibition
Tuesday 16th May (during lunchtime)
Learners have the opportunity to raise awareness of their charity at the Community Project Fair during lunchtime
Wednesday 24th May 2.25-3.25pm
This is the final Community Project Exhibition with Year 8 attending to help peer assess the final presentations.
