One of our learners, Zaal, has recently joined Nexus from the Middle East. In Dubai, he was learning Arabic and he would like to continue learning Arabic in Singapore. He is keen to set up an after school club (CCA) later in the year for children to continue to develop basic arabic. To express interest in your child taking part in this CCA please email Andy Jefferson (jefferson.a@nexus.edu.sg) by Monday, 2 October.
We currently offer Mother Tongue or Home Language classes in French, Russian and Japanese after school, as well as in Chinese in our core curriculum time during the school day. Dutch lessons are also available at Nexus through the outside provider 'Language One'. Please contact us for details if you are interested. We are currently looking to recruit a teacher of German to help us add to this list! We are always looking to develop our programme, as well as the range of languages on offer for learners in Years 1 to 9. If your son or daughter regularly uses a language other than English at home and you would like him or her to join other speakers of the language for a weekly class, please indicate your interest through completing this short form. Where three families of children of a broadly similar age group would like their children to take part, we will look to find a teacher and set up a class. Please note, an additional charge of $30 per session is made for afternoon Mother Tongue language classes.

Please may we remind all parents and guardians to be mindful of children's safety in and around the car park and roads in school. If you are driving please drive very slowly, take notice of the security personnel and always reverse park. If you are on foot, please make sure you closely supervise children when they are in the car park and crossing the roads. We also ask that children do not ride their scooters on campus.
On Monday, 25 September or Wednesday, 4 October we invite you to meet your child's teacher at our Parent Teacher Conferences. These will take place in the Primary teaching Pods around school between 3.45pm and 7.15pm. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s homeroom teacher and for you to share with them your thoughts of your child as a learner. The homeroom teachers will also discuss how your child has settled into school and share their initial assessments and observations.
Each appointment with homeroom teachers is 15 minutes. You only need to select ONE appointment for your child's Homeroom teacher.
All specialist teachers (for Music, Visual Arts, Health and Physical Education, Languages other than English (LOTE) and ELS (English Language Support)) will be available in the Multipurpose Room on Level 2 for informal conversations you may want to have.
The Parent Portal is now open for booking appointment times that suit you. Please contact Student Services if you require help. The Parent Portal will close for booking at midnight on Sunday, 24 September.
These Parent Teacher Conferences are specifically for parents and as such are not suitable for your children. Please make alternative arrangements for your them. Thank you.
