The inaugural Years 3 to 6 Inter-house Cross Country kicked off on a hot and humid Thursday morning out at Bedok Reservoir. It was the first opportunity for some of our learners to participate in such an event and they loved it! Every participant earned points for their house, which meant the support for one another was immense. Congratulations to Tanah (Green) House for taking the honours in the first house event of the year, trying to knock Api House, the defending champs off their top spot on the podium.
A special mention must also go to our medalists on the day who earned maximum points for their house with some sensational races.

Our Year 3 - 6 medalists
What a fantastic start to the season for the U11 NISS basketball teams. Since last year we have doubled our size, with two teams instead of one, and a full complement of players in each. With many new players to support our 'Veterans' from last year, it is sure to be an exciting season. Over the last few weeks we have had great success in both our skill development and game play. This was then taken to the court last night as both teams won their games against the opposition.
As the season ramps up, all of the players are gaining in confidence and the motto 'see ball, get ball' is becoming evident in the passion they are showing on the court! Try to come an check us out next week on Thursday as we compete for Nexus again from 4:30pm in the gym.
The results were as follows:
Nexus Green vs. GESS - Nexus won 5-4
Nexus Blue vs. AIS - Nexus won 8-5
Nexus Blue vs. GESS - Nexus won 8-6
Nexus Green vs. AIS - Nexus won 9-4
What a fantastic start to the season for our girls with a succession of wins! It was great to see our team coming together during our first match against the Canadian International School (Tanjong Katong). The effort and commitment the girls have shown during our training ensured our 18-1 win. Our next triumph was a win against Tanglin Trust School 24-2. This match gave the girls the opportunity to try different positions, improving their own versatility to the game and building a stronger team. The girls consistency with attacking and defending skills sealed our third win of 24-1 against Dover Court.
Almost 50 swimmers from Nexus participated in the Tri Meet hosted by Dulwich last Friday. Our young swimmers aged from 8 to 11 years old competed against Dulwich and Australian International School in 10 events.
This meet saw our young swimmers far exceed anything that their coaches had ever imagined possible in the pool. They clearly dominated in the individual events, taking home many ribbons and personal bests. A huge thank you to all parents and staff who stepped in and gave up their F1 time to support the team. Thank you to Rachel Malster, Sandra and Nisa for helping run our Novice swim squad back at Nexus. #nexusswimming
