ACSIS Season 2 Sport - CCA Portal Is Now Open For Selections
Welcome to ACSIS Season 2 Sport,
Nexus International School (Singapore) is a member school of Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS). ACSIS provides learners with an opportunity to compete in an inter-school athletic programme. The academic year is divided into three sporting seasons. Each season offers different sports across various age categories in which our learners may participate.
If you cannot find the sport that you wanted to play, it may appear in another one of the three ACSIS Sporting seasons. Please see page 2 of the Season 1 booklet: Music, Mother Tongue, ACSIS Sport & Swimming booklet
When does training begin for ACSIS Season 2 sports?
ACSIS Season 2 sport trainings begins from Monday 5 November and will follow the schedule presented below. The advertised days and times will then become the regular training days for these teams.
Fixtures for some teams will begin from Monday 19 November.
How do you/your child get involved in the ACSIS Sport Season 2 programme?
The sign-ups will allow learners (or parents of children from Year 2 to Year 4) to select sports via the CCA portal. The CCA portal will open on Wednesday 31 October at 3.30pm and will close on Friday 9 November (the end of the 1st week of trials). Please note that during this period only ACSIS Season 2 Sport selections can be made.
Will everyone play fixtures/matches?
All learners who sign up for a sport team will be given the opportunity to train with the squad on the regular training day. However, if numbers are large, team selection for fixtures will be done on a weekly basis.

Nexus Cross Country Teams Perform With Outstanding Quality at ACSIS Championships
Primary School Cross Country ACSIS Champs - Bedok Reservoir, 1 November.
The athletes arrived at school, full of enthusiasm and ready to make the trip out to Bedok Reservoir. Once there, the clouds soon started to burn off and things really did heat up out on the course. The commitment to training at ECA, as well as before school training has made a huge difference to levels of fitness this year.
There was a great team environment amongst the group and this showed on the day with the amount of noise our teammates and super supportive parents made as our athletes made it round the course. The enjoyment of the occasion they had worked so hard to be at, was evident across their faces as they ran down the finishing shoot, many competing in their first ACSIS Champs ever. We had great results across the board but there are a few individuals we should also mention…
Roos - Gold Medal in the 9 & Under Girls Race
Soma - Bronze Medal in the 10 & Under Boys Race
Archie Fairfoull - 8th in the 11 & Under Boys Race
Joshua Little - 9th in the 11 & Under boys Race
Full results will be shared in due course. We look forward to seeing you all again and even more learners next year. Just because the Cross Country season has finished for the year, this doesn’t mean you can not get mum and dad out for run with you a couple of times a week.

A Real Family Feel at the Nexus Swimming Championships
We kick-started our swimming season with a fantastic Swimming Championship last Friday
In true Nexus style, the atmosphere was brimming with excitement throughout the meet, with great racing and lots of smiley faces from our swimmers and families! A key highlight was seeing many of our young swimmers racing for the first time and they had a chance to compete alongside our Performance and Elite Swim team squads.
A massive thank you goes out to our teachers, volunteers, parents and photographers for their invaluable time and contribution.

A Stunning Bronze For Our 10&U Netball Team
Winning a bronze medal at the ACSIS championships was a fantastic ending to what has been a superb season for the 10&U netball team. The girls have really committed to training this season and have shown great spirit. With many girls new to Netball, their progress has been astonishing and with a focus on space and tight defending they won a high proportion of their friendly games. We hope to see the all of the girls back playing in one of the next two seasons.

A Fabulous End To The Season For Our 11&U Girls Basketballers
It was a wonderful end to the season for the U11 Girls Basketball. Every student who played was new to the game but after a season of hard work, it paid off in results. On Tuesday we achieved our first win along with a draw in a tight game. A wonderful result for a rookie team.
Well done girls and I hope to see you next year. We won't be a rookie team anymore so everyone should lookout!

12&U Netball Team Show Success in Development Throughout the Season
The 12&U Netball Team has had a successful season working hard to develop their attacking and defensive skills. The girls trained each week, being risk takers and trying a variety of positions to ensure the team was game ready. Their team spirit evolved through their collaboration to work together and offer support during play. With every match, the girls got better and better which resulted in an exciting and explosive last game against SJI. We may not have won the game but the girls played like winners.
A special thank you to the parents and teachers who came and supported our games and cheered us on!
