Wow, what a fabulous performance from our Primary musicians last week. It certainly did go POP! in the Nexus auditorium on Thursday evening with our learners from Years 1 to 6 serenading us with a variety of chart toppers in their POP! themed music ensembles. With over 140 young musicians taking to the stage and an audience that was standing room only the atmosphere was electric. It was a wonderful evening in our first ever Primary Ensembles Concert at Nexus.
From our youngest singers in Singing Stars performing an adorable rendition of Katy Perry’s ‘Roar!’ to the Primary Orchestra performing the theme song to ‘Forrest Gump’. The Percussion group ringing out the beats from the African World Cup classic ‘Wacka Wacka’ and our Ukulele ensembles treating to us to a range of song choices. The Primary Choir performed throughout the evening and a joint performance brought the evening to a show-stopping “STOP!” by the Spice Girls. For video, click here!
We are very proud of all our young learners who have demonstrated a huge amount of commitment this year by attending rehearsals and practising at home. They have grown in confidence and weekly demonstrate the Enthusiasm of our Nexus RECIPE. We hope that you will continue to enjoy making music over the holiday and welcome you back in August.
I would also like to personally thank all of the music team and other teaching staff that support our learners weekly during ensemble rehearsals.
