Dear Parents and Guardians,
First, my thanks for your continued support as we all do what we can under the social distancing guidelines. As a school, we have a number of government advisory bodies overseeing our approach to keep everyone safe and we appreciate your understanding.
It was a pleasure meeting many of you in school last week for the Primary Parent Teacher Conferences. We know that a strong home school partnership is crucial for good learning. This is particularly true for our younger children and we value your engagement with your child's journey.
Despite the restrictions placed on us, our UN Global Goals week was a huge success last week. As well as daily thought-pieces for the learners, Year Groups across the school took part in a range of meaningful activities to help them understand and connect with the Global Goals. Take a look at the UN Global Goals Week section to see some of the activities that took place.
Today, we had our termly Bug Busting Day. Did you know that head lice don't jump? If fact they do the opposite, they 'hold on tight' to a strand of hair. These facts and more were shared by our fantastic nurses today as part of our Bug Busting Day. This day is a reminder to all families to make sure you do a weekly check to make sure the 'bugs are busted!
This week, our curriculum focus is ACTION. A key component of the Nexus PYP is the challenge given to all learners to take action. We aim to offer all learners the opportunity and the power to choose to act; to decide on their actions; and to reflect on these actions in order to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. Take a look at the Taking Action! section to see how this element of the PYP is embedded in to the learning in each year group.
A reminder that next Friday is the last day of Term 1. School finishes at the usual time. Other key term dates are included in the Important Notices section.
Finally, I'd like to wish a Happy Mid Autumn Festival to all our families who are celebrating this week. 愿 明 月 常 与 你 相 伴, 照 亮 你 的 健 康、 幸 福 和 繁 荣 之 路。
Best regards,
Paul
