The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States on the 25th September, 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. Throughout the year, all of our Primary School learners explore aspects of these development goals through the powerful units of inquiry. Each year, we also celebrate and support the work of the UN towards these Global Goals on the anniversary of the adoption of the goals.
Next week, as well as daily thought-pieces for the Primary learners to reflect on and discuss in their homerooms, numerous year groups' current units of inquiry are designed to explore aspects of the UN Global Goals.
As you can see from the graphic below, on Friday our focus will be on 'Quality Education'. We are encouraging all learners to take part in the 'When I Grow Up' dress up day and wear clothes that show what they would like to be when they grow up. (No donations are expected).
